Hi, I'm Melanie
I know what it feels like to hold multiple versions of yourself at once — the person you were, the person you're becoming, and all the roles in between. That shifting ground can show up in how you move between cultures, in your closest relationships, or in the everyday work of raising children — leaving you wondering where you truly belong, or whether you're enough for the people who depend on you.
My own path — across cultures, relationships, and motherhood — has shaped how I show up in this work. I understand the ache of searching for belonging, the pull toward real connection, and the fear of not measuring up — to a partner, to our children, to ourselves. This is exactly why this work matters so much to me.
Fluent in both English and French, I offer therapy that moves comfortably between languages and cultures, so you never have to translate your inner world before I can understand it.
Outside of work, I enjoy silly and sweet moments with my husband and kids, engaging in just about any outdoor activity, learning new languages, reading books with my book club, and traveling.
Why “Corner Work” Counseling?
The name comes from a well-known learning model called the four stages of competence. It maps out how we grow: we start not knowing what we don't know, then we become aware of what we're struggling with, then we build the skill to change it, and eventually it becomes second nature.
The hardest turn in that journey is the second one — moving from awareness of the problem to actually changing it. You know what's holding you back, but knowing isn't the same as understanding how to fix it. That's the corner where most people get stuck, and it's rarely one we can turn alone. This tricky spot is what I named my practice after.
In therapy, this is often the space between why you feel disconnected from yourself and others and actually finding your way back to wholeness.
